Shopping in Las Vegas splits into three kinds: the themed malls inside and beside the Strip resorts, the two big outlet centers, and a handful of local spots with their own character. The Strip malls are attractions in themselves, even if you buy nothing; the outlets are where the discounts are.

This guide was checked in September 2026 against each center's own site where it allows it. Store line-ups change constantly, so check the directory before making a special trip for one brand.

Shopping on the Strip

Fashion Show

At 3200 Las Vegas Blvd South, across from Wynn and Treasure Island, Fashion Show is a conventional mall on a Vegas scale: the center says it has more than 250 retailers and over 30 restaurants across 2 million square feet. It is the best choice for everyday brands and department stores, and it is air-conditioned relief on a hot afternoon. It has its own parking.

Forum Shops at Caesars Palace

Attached to Caesars Palace, the Forum Shops is designed as an ancient Roman street, with a painted sky ceiling, statues and fountains. It mixes luxury fashion houses with popular brands and restaurants. Even if you aren't buying, it is one of the Strip's signature walks. Its operator's site didn't allow automated checking, so use the directory there for current stores and hours.

Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian

Inside the Venetian and Palazzo, at 3377 Las Vegas Blvd South, the Grand Canal Shoppes has over 160 stores and more than a dozen places to eat, along indoor canals with gondola rides. The rides are paid; watching them from the bridges is free. The center also points to a waterfall and garden in the atrium.

Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood

Wrapped around Planet Hollywood at 3663 Las Vegas Blvd South, Miracle Mile is a 1.2-mile loop with over 150 stores, mostly mid-priced. It doubles as an entertainment venue, with around 15 live shows, including Zombie Burlesque and a comedy club, plus residencies at PH Live. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and parking is available 24 hours.

Other Strip shopping

  • The Shops at Crystals: the angular luxury center at CityCenter, next to ARIA. Check its directory before you go; its site couldn't be checked.
  • Resort arcades: most big resorts have their own shopping promenades. Wynn and Bellagio lean toward high-end fashion and jewellery.
  • Themed stores: M&M's World and the Coca-Cola store near MGM Grand, and Hershey's Chocolate World at New York-New York, are free to browse and popular for gifts.

The Outlet Malls

Las Vegas has two Premium Outlets centers, both run by Simon. They are the place for discounted designer and brand-name goods. Simon's sites didn't allow automated checking, so confirm hours and the store list on the center's page before you go.

  • Las Vegas North Premium Outlets: an open-air center just west of downtown, generally the larger of the two with more designer names. It is a stop on the free Downtown Loop shuttle, which runs Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 3 to 10 p.m. It is outdoors, so go early in summer.
  • Las Vegas South Premium Outlets: an indoor, air-conditioned center south of the Strip on Las Vegas Boulevard, easier in the heat and usually quieter. Good for mainstream brands.

Outlet tips

  • Check for coupons first. Simon offers a free VIP program with extra discounts; sign up on its site before you go.
  • Know your prices. Some outlet stock is made for outlets. Compare with the brand's regular store if the price is the reason you're buying.
  • Go on a weekday morning for the shortest lines and the best-stocked racks.
  • Plan transport. Rideshare from the Strip is easiest; North Premium Outlets also has the Downtown Loop.

Off-Strip and Local Shopping

Town Square Las Vegas

At 6605 Las Vegas Blvd South, south of the Strip, Town Square is an open-air center laid out as a town, with 26 buildings, a central park and a children's park. Alongside the stores it has an AMC 18 cinema, PopStroke, Sandbox VR, Wiseguys Comedy Club and more. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday; restaurants and bars stay open later. It is a good choice for families.

Downtown Container Park

At the east end of Fremont Street, this open-air center is built from shipping containers and filled with small boutiques, bars and places to eat. Entry is free. Retail hours are 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Children are welcome until 9 p.m., after which the park is 21 and over. The fire-breathing Mantis sculpture at the entrance comes to life at sunset from Wednesday to Sunday.

The Arts District

South of downtown, the Arts District has vintage and antique shops, record stores, galleries and murals. The first Friday of each month brings an evening street festival. See our guides to record stores and pawn shops for specific stops.

Sales Tax

Clark County's combined sales tax rate is 8.375%, effective since January 1, 2020, according to the Nevada Department of Taxation. It applies to clothing too; Nevada has no clothing exemption. The US has no general VAT-style refund for international visitors, so don't expect to reclaim sales tax at the airport.

Compared with some other big shopping cities it is not especially low, so tax isn't a strong reason on its own to save a big purchase for Las Vegas. Compare the total price, including tax and any shipping.

Shopping Strategies

  • Luxury shoppers: start at the Forum Shops and Grand Canal Shoppes, and the resort arcades at Wynn and Bellagio. Ask boutiques about shipping home rather than carrying bags through the airport.
  • Value shoppers: spend a morning at one of the Premium Outlets, and use Fashion Show and Miracle Mile for everyday brands.
  • Families: Town Square, with its children's park and cinema, and Container Park before 9 p.m.
  • Souvenir hunters: skip the generic Strip gift shops. The Arts District, Container Park and the gift shops at museums such as the Neon Museum and the Mob Museum sell more distinctive things. Our souvenir guide has ideas.

Practical Tips

  • Walking distances are long. The Forum Shops, Grand Canal Shoppes and Miracle Mile are big; wear comfortable shoes and plan one or two per day.
  • Shop in the afternoon heat. The Strip malls are air-conditioned; save outdoor centers for the morning or evening in summer.
  • Check parking. Resort garages may charge; Miracle Mile and Fashion Show advertise their own parking. Check the current rates on each site.
  • Keep receipts and check return policies, especially at outlet stores, which can differ from the brand's regular stores.
