Las Vegas Bars Guide 2026: Cocktail Bars, Dives and 24-Hour Spots

Las Vegas has bars for every mood: cocktail lounges inside the big resorts, a historic strip of bars on Fremont East, dives that never close, tiki bars and sportsbooks with screens the size of a building. Bars turn over quickly here, and many older lists still send people to places that have closed or moved.

Every bar in this guide was checked against its own website, or its resort's, in September 2026. Hours change, so confirm before you go, and bring a physical ID: you must be 21 to drink, and many bars check everyone.

Cocktail Bars

Herbs & Rye

A steakhouse and cocktail bar at 3713 W Sahara Avenue, a short drive west of the Strip, open since 2009. It opens Monday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m., so it works for a late drink as well as dinner. Its own line is that it makes "pretty good steaks, and REALLY good cocktails". Book for dinner, especially on weekends.

The Venetian and Palazzo

The Venetian Resort has built one of the strongest groups of bars on the Strip. Its own list includes:

• Close Company: described by the resort as the "unpretentious, unapologetically fun bar from the creators of Death & Co".
• Rosina: a small, elegant cocktail lounge. Smoking is not permitted, which is unusual on a casino floor.
• Juliet Cocktail Room and Electra Cocktail Club: two more lounges; the resort recommends reservations at Juliet.
• Bar Luca and Bellini Bar: casino bars on the Palazzo and Venetian floors, both open 24 hours a day.

Wynn and Encore

Wynn's current bars include the Overlook Lounge, which it describes as a newly designed spot for aperitifs, cocktails and spirits; the Eastside Lounge, an intimate lounge overlooking Encore's pools; and the Little Bubble Bar at Delilah, styled after old Hollywood. Expect luxury-resort prices.

Velveteen Rabbit

At 1218 S Main Street in the Arts District, south of Fremont Street, Velveteen Rabbit is a neighbourhood cocktail bar that describes itself as "a sacred gem within the cultural timepiece of DTLV". It takes reservations through SevenRooms. It is a good first or last stop on a First Friday evening.

The Chandelier at the Cosmopolitan

The three-story bar wrapped in strands of crystal is one of the best-known sights on the Strip, and a popular place for a first drink. It gets crowded later in the evening, so go early if you want a seat. The Cosmopolitan's site doesn't allow automated checking, so confirm current hours and levels on its page.

Downtown and Fremont East

East of Las Vegas Boulevard, Fremont Street turns into Fremont East, a few blocks of independent bars that are usually cheaper and more relaxed than the Strip. It is an easy walk from the Fremont Street Experience.

• Atomic Liquors (917 E Fremont St): "serving Vegas since 1952" and billed as the city's oldest freestanding bar. Open from noon until 2 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
• Commonwealth (525 Fremont St): a late-night bar with a rooftop dance floor overlooking Fremont East, open Thursday from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Hidden inside is The Laundry Room, a speakeasy with very limited seating; plan ahead and ask Commonwealth how to reserve.
• Circa: the downtown resort's bars and its pool, Stadium Swim, are built around sports. See the sportsbook section below.

Dives and Late-Night Classics

• Double Down Saloon (4640 Paradise Rd): the self-described "World's Most Popular punk rock dive", a short ride east of the Strip near UNLV. Its motto is "We Never Close", and it says all of its shows are free. Its house shot, Ass Juice, is famous enough to be sold as merchandise.
• Dino's Lounge: a long-running locals' dive that calls itself the "home of the PBR game". It has run karaoke for over 25 years, now on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m., with graveyard specials from midnight to 8 a.m. Sunday to Wednesday.
• Peppermill (2985 Las Vegas Blvd S): open since 1972, the Peppermill's Fireside Lounge, with its rope-lit banquettes, is known for oversized cocktails such as the 64-ounce Scorpion. It is open 24 hours from Thursday to Sunday, and from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday to Wednesday.

Tiki Bars

• Frankie's Tiki Room (1712 W Charleston Blvd): open 24 hours every day. The interior was designed by tiki builder Bamboo Ben, with art by Shag and Leroy Schmaltz, and it describes itself as "south seas exotica and modern primitivism, with just a hint of Las Vegas kitsch". Smoking and gaming are allowed.
• The Golden Tiki (3939 Spring Mountain Rd): in Chinatown, open 24 hours and 21+ only, with a physical, valid ID required. It serves food, has live music and DJs during the week, and runs an "Up All Night Happy Hour" from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday evening reservations need a prepaid minimum that goes toward your bill.

Sportsbooks and Sports Bars

Circa Sportsbook, downtown, is the big one: three stories, a 78-million-pixel screen, stadium seating for 350 on the first level, bar-top games on two levels, a 1,000-person viewing capacity and private boxes for groups. For big games, arrive early or book a box.

Where to Drink After 2 a.m.

Las Vegas has no citywide last call, and many bars hold 24-hour licenses. Casino bars on the big resort floors usually stay open around the clock. From the bars above:

• Open 24 hours: Double Down Saloon, Frankie's Tiki Room, The Golden Tiki, and the Venetian's Bar Luca and Bellini Bar.
• Open 24 hours on some days: the Peppermill, Thursday to Sunday.
• Until 3 or 4 a.m.: Herbs & Rye (3 a.m., Monday to Saturday), Atomic Liquors (3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday), Commonwealth (4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday).

Free Drinks and Saving Money

• Casino drinks: casinos serve complimentary drinks to people who are gambling. Many now track play and require a minimum level before a drink is poured, so ask. Tip the server. Our free drinks guide explains how it works.
• Happy hours: the best deals tend to be off the Strip and downtown. Times and prices change often; check the bar's own page on the day. See our happy hours guide.
• Drink downtown and off-Strip: Fremont East and neighbourhood bars are generally cheaper than resort lounges.
• Watch the total: resort bars add tax, and many add a service charge for table service. Check the menu and bill.

Practical Tips

• Bring physical ID. Some bars, like The Golden Tiki, say a phone photo won't do.
• Expect smoke in some bars. Casino floors and some standalone bars allow smoking. If it bothers you, look for lounges that don't allow it, such as Rosina.
• Dress codes: dives have none; upscale lounges and anything that turns into a nightclub late may turn away athletic wear.
• Getting home: use rideshare or a taxi. Don't drive: Nevada enforces DUI laws strictly.
• Drink water. The desert air dehydrates you faster than you expect.
