Las Vegas Cheap Eats Guide 2026: Good Food on a Budget

Eating in Las Vegas does not have to mean resort prices. The cheapest good food is usually a short ride off the Strip, but there are solid budget options on it too, if you know where to look. This guide covers places whose own websites, or their resort's, still listed them in September 2026.

Menu prices change often, and many casino specials come and go, so this guide avoids quoting dish prices it cannot check. Look at the current menu before you go, and remember tax and tip at sit-down restaurants.

Five Rules for Eating Cheaply in Vegas

1. Leave the resort for at least one meal a day. Off-Strip restaurants usually cost far less for better food.
2. Make lunch your big meal. Many restaurants serve the same kitchen's food for less at lunch.
3. Share. Portions at places like Hash House A Go Go are built for two.
4. Watch the drinks. A couple of cocktails can cost more than the meal. Buy water and snacks at a pharmacy or convenience store on the Strip.
5. Join the players club. Casino loyalty cards are free, and members often get restaurant discounts or offers.

Cheap Eats on the Strip

Tacos El Gordo

The best-known cheap meal on the Strip. The Tijuana-style taquería has a location at 3041 S. Las Vegas Blvd, on the north Strip, and others on E. Charleston Blvd, Sunset Rd and Losee Rd in North Las Vegas. Order adobada (spit-roasted marinated pork); the tacos are small, so plan on three or four. It gets busy late at night.

Peppermill Restaurant & Fireside Lounge

A 1972 coffee shop at 2985 Las Vegas Blvd S, between Wynn and Resorts World, with neon, huge portions and a Fireside Lounge that appeared in the film Casino. The Peppermill lists hours of 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday to Wednesday and 24 hours Thursday to Sunday. It is not the cheapest meal in town, but portions are big enough to share, which makes it good value.

Earl of Sandwich (Planet Hollywood)

Hot sandwiches at a counter in the Planet Hollywood casino, a reliable cheap lunch in the middle of the Strip.

Hash House A Go Go (The LINQ)

"Twisted farm food" in enormous portions: its fried chicken and waffle tower and stuffed burgers are the famous orders. One plate often feeds two, which is where the value comes in.

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips (The LINQ Promenade)

Counter-service fish and chips, the cheapest way to eat from a celebrity chef on the Strip.

Resort casual restaurants and food halls

Most resorts have a café, a food court or a food hall. They are not bargains, but they are usually much cheaper than the resort's sit-down restaurants, and a food hall lets a group with different tastes eat together. Planet Hollywood, for example, also lists P.F. Chang's, YOLÖS Mexican Grill and Pin-up Pizza alongside Earl of Sandwich.

In-N-Out Burger

The California burger chain has several locations close to the Strip. Use In-N-Out's location finder for the nearest one and its hours.

Off-Strip Value

Ellis Island (4178 Koval Lane)

A locals' casino a short walk east of the center Strip, with its own brewery. Its Village Pub & Cafe calls itself "THE BEST deal in Las Vegas", and the property also has Ellis Island BBQ, Metro Pizza, a rooftop bar called The Deck and more. Its long-running steak dinner special has changed over the years, so ask about current specials and whether you need a players card.

Lotus of Siam

The best-known Thai restaurant in Las Vegas has two locations, at 620 E. Flamingo Rd and, since May 2026, 953 E. Sahara Ave. Dinner is a treat rather than a bargain, but lunch is the cheaper way in. Check the site for lunch hours. Signature dishes include crispy duck panang and garlic prawns.

South Point

A big locals' resort at the far south end of Las Vegas Blvd. Its Garden Buffet serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekdays and brunch and dinner on weekends, with six live cooking stations and a Mongolian grill. South Point also has a 24-hour Coronado Cafe, a Steak 'n Shake and a hot dog cart in the sportsbook.

Chinatown (Spring Mountain Road)

The long stretch of Asian restaurants on Spring Mountain Road, just west of the Strip, is the best place in the city for good food at local prices: pho, ramen, noodles, dim sum, Sichuan, Korean and more, many open late. Restaurants change often, so see our Chinatown food guide for current picks.

Capriotti's

The sub shop that started in Wilmington, Delaware is now all over the Las Vegas valley. The Bobbie, a Thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich, is the famous one. A large sub can feed two.

Downtown and Fremont Street

Downtown casinos are generally cheaper than the Strip, and you can eat well for less.

• American Coney Island (The D): Detroit-style coney dogs, quick and cheap.
• Binion's: Binion's Café, Binion's Deli and Benny's Smokin' BBQ & Brews.
• Four Queens: Chicago Brewing Co. and Wana Taco.
• Downtown Container Park: casual restaurants in shipping containers, with outdoor seating and a free playground. Restaurants stay open until 11 p.m. most nights and 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Late-Night Cheap Eats

Vegas is one of the best cities in the country for eating after midnight. Cheap options:

• Peppermill: open 24 hours Thursday to Sunday, until 2 a.m. the rest of the week.
• Tacos El Gordo: the classic post-club stop on the north Strip.
• Gordon Ramsay Burger (Planet Hollywood): open until 1 a.m., according to Caesars.
• Casino cafés: many resorts keep one restaurant open all night, such as South Point's Coronado Cafe.
• Chinatown: several Spring Mountain Road restaurants stay open into the early hours.

Cheap Breakfast

• Casino coffee shops: the most reliable cheap breakfast, especially at locals' casinos and downtown.
• Buffet breakfasts at locals' casinos: South Point's Garden Buffet serves breakfast on weekdays.
• Share a plate at Hash House A Go Go or the Peppermill. Breakfasts there are huge.
• Grab-and-go: pharmacies and convenience stores along the Strip sell coffee, fruit and pastries for far less than resort cafés.

Every casino company has a free loyalty program. Signing up can bring discounts at restaurants, and gambling earns points you can sometimes spend on food. Two cautions:

• Food comps come from gambling. Never gamble more than you planned to earn a free meal: the meal is almost always cheaper than the losses.
• Read the offer terms. Discounts often apply only at certain restaurants or times.

Planning a Daily Food Budget

A cheap day in Vegas usually looks like this: a grab-and-go or coffee-shop breakfast, a casual lunch such as tacos, sandwiches or Chinatown noodles, and one sit-down dinner, either at a casual restaurant or off-Strip. Add a splurge meal on one night if it matters to you, and keep drinks in check. Mixing cheap meals with one or two special ones is how most visitors eat well without overspending.
