About
Green Valley is one of Henderson's master-planned communities. A City of Henderson page notes that a current councilman and his wife moved there in 1979. They were among the first families in what was then a new community.
The area is mostly homes, schools and parks. Its visitor focus sits where Green Valley Parkway meets the I-215. Green Valley Ranch Casino, Resort & Spa is at 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway. Next door, The District at Green Valley Ranch is an outdoor shopping and dining center on both sides of Green Valley Parkway.
Green Valley Park, a City of Henderson park on North Pecos Road, has ball fields, courts, picnic shelters and a playground. The city lists it as open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
What to expect
A visit usually centers on Green Valley Ranch and The District. The resort has a casino floor, a spa and salon with a private lap pool, and a Regal Cinemas theater. Concerts play in the Grand Events Center and outdoors in The Backyard.
The District is an open-air center with shops and restaurants on both sides of Green Valley Parkway. Parking is in free surface lots on the east and west sides. A splash pad runs daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Restrooms are next to The Courtyard. Bikes, scooters and skateboards are not allowed anywhere on the property.
