About
Blue Man Group is a wordless stage show built on music, comedy and visual art. The Blue Men never speak, so the show works across languages and age groups. The producers say each performance is different, so no two audiences see exactly the same show.
In Las Vegas the show plays the Blue Man Theater at Luxor, a room designed for this production. The company describes it as pairing the close feel of its Off-Broadway show in New York with Las Vegas-scale staging.
The Las Vegas version is not a copy of the other cities. It includes material written for this production that the company says is not performed in any other Blue Man show. Instruments featured here include the Drum Phoenix and smoke drums, which puff rings of smoke over the crowd in time with the music.
What to expect
Expect one continuous act of roughly 90 to 105 minutes with no break. The show mixes live percussion and a band with physical comedy and bursts of color. Because nothing is spoken, the humor is visual, and the show is carried by rhythm, lights and the Blue Men's reactions to each other and to the room.
Strobe lights are used during parts of the show. If strobes affect you, tell the house manager when you arrive; on request, a staff member will walk you out before those moments. The company also runs sensory-friendly performances for autistic guests and their families, with lower sound and light levels and headphones or earplugs available on request. Snacks and drinks are sold in the lobby.
