Las Vegas has fewer record stores than a city its size might suggest, and several that older guides recommended have closed or gone quiet online. The reliable choice is Zia Records, a Southwest chain with two big stores in town that buy, sell and trade new and used vinyl. Barnes & Noble stocks new records at three of its local stores, and the rest is crate-digging in thrift and antique shops.
We checked each store below against its own website in September 2026. Hours change, so check before you go, and remember that none of these is on the Strip: plan on a car or rideshare.
Quick Picks
| If you want… | Go to | Where |
|---|---|---|
| The biggest selection of new and used vinyl | Zia Records | S Eastern Ave and S Rainbow Blvd |
| To sell or trade your records | Zia Records | Either store, 10 a.m.–9 p.m. |
| New releases near the Strip | Barnes & Noble, Town Square | South end of the Strip |
| Cheap, unpredictable finds | Thrift and antique stores | Across the valley |
Zia Records
Zia Records is a Southwest chain of music and media stores that sells new and pre-owned vinyl, CDs and more, and buys, sells and trades through its "$ell Your Stuff" programme. It has two full stores in Las Vegas, both open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with trade counters open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.:
| Store | Address | Phone |
|---|---|---|
| Eastern | 7380 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123 | (702) 735-4942 |
| Rainbow | 1216 S Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146 | (702) 233-4942 |
Zia also lists a Cheyenne store in North Las Vegas, but without an address or hours on its locations page, so call before heading there. Older guides give different addresses for Zia (on Sahara, and further north on Eastern); use the ones above.
Tip: the used bins turn over as people trade in collections, so a second visit during your trip can turn up different records. Bring records to trade before 9 p.m.
Barnes & Noble
For new pressings and reissues of popular albums, three Barnes & Noble stores list vinyl among their features: Town Square (6671 S Las Vegas Blvd, Suite A-129), Crossroads Commons (8915 W Charleston Blvd) and Henderson (567 N Stephanie St). Town Square, at the south end of the Strip, is the closest to the resorts. It is a mainstream selection rather than a collector's store. See our bookstores guide for the full list of stores.
Crate-Digging: Thrift, Antique and Pawn Shops
If you enjoy the hunt, Las Vegas's thrift, antique and pawn shops are worth a look. Stock is unpredictable, but the city's entertainment history means lounge, soundtrack and showroom records do turn up.
- Thrift stores: chains and charity shops across the valley have record bins; donations arrive daily, so go early.
- Antique and vintage shops in the Arts District, around Main Street and Charleston Boulevard, often have a crate or two, and you can combine the trip with galleries and cafés. See our Arts District and street art guide.
- Pawn shops sometimes carry records and turntables; see our pawn shops guide.
Buying Tips
- Check the vinyl under good light for scratches and warps, and look at the label and runout for the pressing if originals matter to you.
- Ask the store to play a record before you pay a collector's price.
- Selling? Clean records in good sleeves get better offers. Call ahead if you're bringing a large collection.
- Flying home: carry records in your hand luggage flat in a sturdy bag or record mailer, and keep them out of a hot car; heat warps vinyl quickly in Las Vegas.
Record Store Day
Record Store Day, when independent shops sell limited releases, is usually held on a Saturday in April, with a smaller Black Friday event in November. Participating stores and dates are posted on the official Record Store Day website; check it for the next event and whether Zia's Las Vegas stores are taking part. On the day, expect queues before opening and limits on how many copies of each release you can buy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Record Stores in Las Vegas 2026: Where to Buy and Sell Vinyl
Zia Records is the most reliable choice: two large stores, at 7380 S Eastern Avenue and 1216 S Rainbow Boulevard, sell new and pre-owned vinyl and CDs and buy, sell and trade collections. Both are open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For new pressings near the Strip, Barnes & Noble at Town Square has a vinyl section.
Zia Records buys, sells and trades through its "$ell Your Stuff" programme. Its Eastern and Rainbow stores accept trades daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Clean records in good sleeves get better offers, and it is worth calling ahead if you are bringing a large collection.
No dedicated record store is on the Strip itself. The closest place to buy vinyl is Barnes & Noble at Town Square Las Vegas, 6671 S Las Vegas Boulevard, at the south end of the Strip, which stocks new records. Zia Records' Eastern store is a short drive south of the Strip.
Record Store Day is usually held on a Saturday in April, with a smaller Black Friday event in November. The official Record Store Day website lists each year's dates and the participating stores, so check it to see whether Las Vegas shops such as Zia Records are taking part. Expect queues before opening and per-customer limits.
Zia Records' used bins turn over constantly as people trade in collections. For bargain digging, try thrift stores and charity shops across the valley, antique and vintage shops in the Arts District, and pawn shops. Stock is unpredictable, but the city's entertainment history means lounge and showroom records do turn up.
Carry them in your hand luggage, flat in a sturdy bag or record mailer, rather than checking them. Don't leave records in a parked car: summer heat in Las Vegas can warp vinyl in minutes.
