About
Criss Angel MINDFREAK is the illusion show Criss Angel performs in the Criss Angel Theater at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas. Its name comes from his TV series Mindfreak, and many of the illusions come from that show and his TV specials.
The show's site calls it a concert of magic and illusions. It runs 75 minutes and pairs Angel's illusions with lighting, video, pyrotechnics and sound. His best-known piece is his "flying" levitation, which the site says Vanish Magazine named the greatest illusion of all time.
On his site, Angel promises "you'll never see anything like it for the rest of your life." Planet Hollywood sums it up with the line "The Illusionist Reborn." The same theater also hosts a separate production, "Kim Dracula & Criss Angel: HAUNTED." Make sure you book the show you mean.
What to expect
The experience starts before the curtain. Planet Hollywood says the lobby is interactive and the production immerses you from the moment you arrive. Inside, expect a fast run of illusions backed by moving lights, effects and pyrotechnics. The resort says the rig has more of these than any theatrical show worldwide.
Angel works the crowd and may pick audience members for demonstrations. The show's site recommends it for ages 10 and up due to mature content, even though Planet Hollywood lists it as all ages. Families with younger children should weigh that note. Dress is casual. With a 75-minute running time, a 7:00 PM show leaves the rest of the evening free.
