V - The Ultimate Variety Show is a revue made up of short specialty acts. Its lineup rotates, and the theater says about a dozen acts take part, so the running order is not the same every night. Acts cover acrobatics, juggling, magic, comedy and stunt work.

The show is produced by David Saxe, who grew up in a Las Vegas show family. The show's page says his mother was a showgirl in Les Folies Bergere and his father played saxophone and led a band. Specialty acts were once used to cover costume and set changes. Saxe wanted to build a whole show around them instead.

V opened at the Venetian in 2002. Saxe then built his own venue, the V Theater, which opened at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in 2004. The show has played there since. According to the producer, some of its performers have appeared on TV talent competitions and late-night talk shows.

What to expect

Expect a run of short acts, one after another, rather than a story. The producer calls it seven shows in one: a juggler may be followed by a comic, then an acrobat or a daredevil stunt. The cast rotates, so a repeat visit can bring different acts. The show runs 75 minutes, like every show in the V Theater complex.

It is aimed at mixed audiences, and the theater lists it for all ages, so families with young kids are part of the crowd. You choose your seat on an interactive map when you book. Seat tiers are Standard, Preferred, VIP and VIP Floor. The showroom does not serve food, but you can bring drinks bought at the complex's own bars to your seat.

  • The V Theater is in suite 360 on the northeast side of the Miracle Mile Shops, next to Flights Restaurant and La Salsa Cantina.
  • No age limit. Kids 2 and under ride free on a lap; anyone 3 and up, or any child in their own seat, needs a ticket.
  • No food is served, and outside food and drinks are not allowed. Drinks from the Showgirl Bar, Veranda Bar or Saxe Lounge can come in.
  • Purses, backpacks and shopping bags are allowed if they fit with you in your seat; the theater does not hold bags.
  • VIP tickets can be refunded until 24 hours before the show; all other tickets are final sale.
