Machine Guns Vegas (MGV) is a shooting range at 3501 Aldebaran Avenue, west of the Strip. It sells fixed packages rather than lane time. Each package names the guns and rounds included, and every shooter gets a one-on-one instructor plus ear and eye protection.

Indoor packages range from the Urban Assault, with a full-auto Colt Commando and an MP5, to the SEAL Team 6 at $239, with a Glock 19, an M4, a tactical shotgun and a belt-fed M249 SAW. There is also a Kids Experience for ages 10 to 17 with a bolt-action rifle, at $119.

Outdoor packages take place at a desert range. The $199 outdoor package covers a .308 sniper rifle, an AK-47 and an M4, plus two cans of Tannerite exploding targets. MGV states that it does not sell firearms.

What to expect

You check in at the indoor range with your reservation and ID. Staff check the shooting rules, including sobriety, before anyone goes near the range. Your instructor then shows you how to hold and fire each gun in your package and stays beside you while you shoot. The site says a one-to-one safety officer is on duty for every shooter. A video of your session is included with indoor packages.

Outdoor packages include transport both ways. The $199 package lists 2 to 2.5 hours of range time, with targets set at various distances and shaded shooting stations. MGV asks you to book outdoor packages at least one day ahead. Guns are subject to availability.
