About

Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas bills itself as the race where you run the Strip at night. The half marathon and 10K run entirely on a closed Las Vegas Boulevard after dark, with bands and DJs on course, and a Saturday-evening 5K finishes on Fremont Street downtown.

The series began in San Diego in 1998. It says it took over Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas in 2009, closing the Strip on December 6 that year, and made it a night race in 2011. Despite the old marathon name, 2027 lists a half marathon, 10K and 5K.

The series reported more than 27,000 registered participants from all 50 states and 60 countries, regions and territories at the 2023 race, its 13th edition.

What to expect

The free Health & Fitness Expo at Resorts World Las Vegas runs Thursday, February 18, 3-6 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Every runner collects their bib there, and 5K bibs must be picked up by 2 p.m. Saturday, ahead of the 5 p.m. start.

On Sunday, Yoga on the Strip runs noon-1 p.m. at New York-New York. The start village opens at 2 p.m. at Toshiba Plaza by T-Mobile Arena, gear check closes at 4:15 p.m., and the half and 10K start at 4:30 p.m. Most road closures run 2-11 p.m., reopening as the last participants pass.

Good to know

  • Runners must show photo ID to collect their race number and must collect their own packet.
  • No bikes, rollerblades, strollers, skateboards or dogs are allowed on the course.
  • Runner parking is at Strip hotels near the start and finish, with fees. The race suggests parking near the finish and taking the Monorail to MGM Grand, then the pedestrian bridge to New York-New York.
  • Use the pedestrian bridges at Strip intersections to cross Las Vegas Boulevard on race day.
  • Do not pack valuables in your gear-check bag. The event is not responsible for lost items, and bags must be claimed before the finish-line festival closes.
  • Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable; distance changes can be requested by email up to 45 days before race weekend.
