Spring Valley is an unincorporated town run by Clark County. The county places it in the western part of the Las Vegas Valley and lists its size as 22,865 acres, or 36 square miles. Addresses there read Las Vegas, but there is no city government.
The county's Spring Valley Town Advisory Board map shades an area from about Decatur Boulevard west to Hualapai Way. It runs from Desert Inn Road, and Sahara Avenue in its northeast corner, south to about Sunset Road and Warm Springs Road. A smaller section reaches farther south on the west side.
For visitors, the main draw is Spring Mountain Road. Visit Las Vegas says Chinatown's official boundaries run west to Rainbow Boulevard, so the stretch between Decatur and Rainbow falls in Spring Valley. Farther west, at Durango Drive, is the county's Desert Breeze Park.
What to expect
Most visitors come to Spring Valley for the restaurants on Spring Mountain Road or for Desert Breeze Park. Route 203 links both to the Strip. Its timed stops run from Las Vegas Boulevard west through Decatur and Rainbow to Spring Mountain and Durango, ending at Town Center and Twain.
Desert Breeze Park, at Spring Mountain Road and Durango Drive, is a large county park. It has a concrete skate park the county rates intermediate to advanced, two hockey rinks, dog runs on the south side and picnic areas. Picnic spots are first come, first served. The Desert Breeze Community Center at the same address also hosts the town advisory board's meetings.

- Desert Breeze Park is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and everyone must leave by 11 p.m. unless the parks director approves otherwise.
- Dogs and cats are allowed in county parks on a leash of six feet or less. Bounce houses and glass containers are prohibited at Desert Breeze, and alcohol is allowed only in designated areas.
- RTC route 203 runs along Spring Mountain Road, with timed stops at Durango, Rainbow and Decatur, then east to Las Vegas Boulevard. Residential fares are $2 a ride or $5 for 24 hours.
- Routes 201 Tropicana and 202 Flamingo run east-west across the town. Routes 101 Rainbow, 103 Decatur and 121 Durango/Buffalo run north-south.
- The Spring Valley Town Advisory Board meets at 6 p.m. at the Desert Breeze Community Center, 8275 Spring Mountain Road. Meetings are on the Tuesday before Planning Commission and County Commission meetings.
