Las Vegas's Chinatown runs along Spring Mountain Road, west of the Strip. Visit Las Vegas, the LVCVA's visitor site, dates it to the 1995 opening of Chinatown Plaza, a two-floor center with a Tang Dynasty-style gate. Four years later the governor made the district official, with Las Vegas Boulevard as its eastern edge and Rainbow Boulevard as its western edge.

The road is lined with shopping plazas holding restaurants, Asian groceries, spas, dessert shops and late-night bars. Visit Las Vegas notes that Korean businesses become more common the farther west you go. Plazas it names include Chinatown Plaza, Shanghai Plaza, Seoul Plaza and The Center at Spring Mountain Road.

The district is in unincorporated Clark County. On the county's town maps, Spring Mountain Road between Interstate 15 and Decatur Boulevard falls in the Paradise town area. The stretch west of Decatur is in Spring Valley.

What to expect

Chinatown is mostly strip malls with shared parking lots. Visit Las Vegas says that once you reach one plaza, there is plenty within walking distance, and that rideshare is often the easiest way to arrive. Chinatown Plaza, at 4205 Spring Mountain Road, opens daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and holds restaurants and shops.

Many places keep late hours. The Golden Tiki, a tiki bar at 3939 Spring Mountain Road, is open 24 hours for guests 21 and over. Sparrow + Wolf, at 4480 Spring Mountain Road, serves dinner daily from 5 to 10 p.m. Chinatown Plaza also hosts the evening Reclaim Night Market, which brings local streetwear brands, designers and makers to the plaza.

  • RTC route 203 runs along Spring Mountain Road. Its timed stops include Spring Mountain and Durango, Rainbow, Decatur and Las Vegas Boulevard, so it links the district to the Strip.
