About
DISCOVERY Children's Museum is a nonprofit museum in the Donald W. Reynolds Discovery Center in Symphony Park, Downtown Las Vegas. It has operated in the valley for more than 35 years. It spreads interactive exhibits across three full floors and is designed for children from birth to 12.
Galleries include the DISCOVERY Lab makerspace and Fantasy Festival, with a life-size pirate ship, a medieval castle and a theater. There is also Eco City, a mini-city of familiar buildings, and Patents Pending, a tinkering space. Toddler Town is a desert-themed area for the youngest visitors. Water World teaches water conservation, Energy/Energia covers energy science, and Young at Art is a storybook-style art space.
The museum's 70-foot central climbing tower, The Summit, is being rebuilt as Desert to the Stars. That exhibit is targeted to open in spring 2028.
What to expect
Visits are hands-on and family-led. Adults explore alongside children, and every visitor aged 1 and over needs a ticket, including adults. Children must stay with a parent or caretaker, so drop-offs are not allowed. Kids over 13 may play on their own as long as their adult is in the building.
During the tower rebuild, the second- and third-floor levels of the climb are still open, but a full top-to-bottom climb is not. Refreshments are sold at the DISCOVERY Store and can be eaten in designated break areas. Families can also bring their own snacks. Strollers are welcome and park next to Toddler Town on the first floor.

Only partly. The Summit is being rebuilt as Desert to the Stars, a 12-level exhibit about the Mojave Desert, forests, mountains and sky. It is targeted to open in spring 2028.
