About

The STRAT Tower rises 1,149 feet over the north end of the Las Vegas Strip at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower. The operator calls it the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States.

Near the top, a two-level observation deck has an enclosed indoor deck on Level 108 with floor-to-ceiling windows and an open-air deck on Level 109. The deck has 108 Eats for sandwiches, ice cream and cookies, 108 Drinks for cocktails, interactive video maps and shops. Top of the World, a restaurant with a revolving dining room, is also in the tower.

The tower's attractions sit between 800 and 1,000 feet up. Big Shot launches 16 riders from a 921-foot platform up the mast to 1,081 feet. SkyJump is a controlled descent from 829 feet that the operator says holds a Guinness World Record. Wedding chapels are on Level 103.

What to expect

From the main entrance near valet, head to the north side of the casino past Self Check-In, Concierge and Starbucks. At STRAT Café, take the escalator to the theater lobby and the Tower entrance. Observation deck, thrill ride and 108 Eats visitors need a Tower pass from the box office; Top of the World diners check in at the restaurant podium and use the VIP entrance.

Admission covers both the indoor and outdoor decks, with viewfinders for zooming in on the city. Big Shot can be added to a Tower visit; the attractions page says a ride costs $5 extra. SkyJump is booked separately, with photo, wristcam video and ride packages. Rides and SkyJump close in bad weather; SkyJump cannot run in winds over 44 mph, heavy rain or lightning.
